CFINE (West Lothian)
In operation since March 2010
It’s been a good year at CFINE (West Lothian); business is going like a train and the staff have been working very hard to build new business and successfully maintain the projects which were previously under Welfehd’s remit.
Each week sees the growth of new customers and box orders have now been designed to make the ordering process easier to use; for more information on the box orders, please call Craig or Jen at the West Lothian base.
We have a great team of over 40 volunteers in West Lothian who assist with selling fruit & veg at the outlets and also helping at the warehouse. We are also lucky to have a number of new volunteer drivers who make life a lot easier in the ever growing distribution process! We are delighted that so many people have shown interest in volunteering and the more the merrier!
Voluntary Action Fund have been very generous in supporting CFINE (West Lothian) since April 2010 and this has enabled us to provide a good support mechanism and training for the ever growing volunteer base.
West Lothian Council have been a great support to CFINE since the take over and have provided a second year’s funding of £10,000 which supports the continuous development and progression of the growing projects.
There are around 15 Community Food Outlets (CFO’s) throughout the West Lothian area where good quality fruit and veg can be accessed at affordable prices.
St John’s Hospital stall which operates all day Wednesday has been hugely popular this year; this can also be accessed by members of the public and each week there is a special offer.
