News and Events Blog Food Bank Guide It has been brought to our attention that there are some issues about accessing our food bank, therefore we prepared this guide to help beneficiaries better understand our services. Referrals CFINE’s food bank and offices are located at 2-4 Poynernook Rd., Aberdeen AB11 5RW. The food bank accepts referrals from various agencies but also operates a self-referral system. It means, if you don’t have a social worker but you need support, you can count on us. When you arrive, one of our food bank volunteers will ask you to fill out a beneficiary form with your details. This form is important for us to better understand the key areas within Aberdeen where our help is needed and the reason why you struggle to make ends meet. Furthermore, you can indicate on this form if you’d like extra help, but we will talk about that later. Food Bank Once you filled out the form, you’ll receive your emergency parcel. Please try to arrive within food bank opening hours (see below). We work on a first come, first serve basis, therefore we may run out of fresh, short shelf life items such as milk, bread, fruit and veg by the end of the day. A parcel lasts approximately for 3 days. Due to stock shortage, we can provide a parcel every 2 weeks. Our experienced Financial Capability Officers and the ‘Cash in your Pocket’ team deal with money advice, debt advice, budgeting, form filling, energy cost and complimentary cooking classes. For more information, click here When you are filling out the beneficiary form at arrival, just tick the box for further help and we will contact you. It’s very important that you leave a correct phone number, so we can call you to book an appointment. Our team will do everything they can to help you get as much support as possible. We expect our staff to treat you with respect at all times and we are asking you to do the same. Most of them are volunteers, giving up their free time to be there for you and help where they can. Our staff understands what you are going through as some of us had faced major difficulties in life as well. You are not alone!
