Poverty overshadows the lives of over one million people in Scotland, including 240,000 children. Members of our community are going hungry and struggling day in day out to make ends meet.

Our community needs you to join our dedicated team of trekkers who will be conquering the Lairig Ghru, Scotland’s most iconic mountain pass on the 3rd of September to raise funds for families who were left struggling by the challenges of the last year.

Event details

Bring your partner or a friend and explore Cairngorms with our team of undaunted trekkers, committed to making a difference! The meeting will be at Linn O’ Dee (near Braemar) on the day at 08.45 for a 09.00 start and the return to Braemar will be around 9pm that evening. Transport will be provided to take you from and back to Braemar or you can meet us there (confirmation on travel arrangements will be agreed nearer the time).

A walk of 32km (19 miles) taking approximately 10 hours into the remote parts of the Cairngorms is challenging, but it is certainly achievable for fundraising heroes like you. You will pass some of the most impressive scenery Scotland has to offer, full of history and with a diverse ecosystem! Perhaps pull together the kit you will need and go out and test your system, definitely break in those new boots.

We will give you advice on what to bring before the event, so don't worry if you are not an experienced hiker. Your guide will keep you safe along the way, pointing out the interesting features and telling a few stories as you walk.

Join the Lairig Ghru fundraising trek on the 3rd of September and raise funds to alleviate the pressure on parents struggling to put supper on the table.

Wait no further to make a difference. Contact Lesley at [email protected] to find out more and sign up!
