News and events News Access to Sanitary Products Project Receives Commercial Partnerships Awards Commercial Partnerships Award The Access to Free Sanitary Products project ran by the Scottish Government, Hey Girls and FareShare Scotland, won The Scottish Public Service Awards - Commercial Partnerships Award at the beginning of December. A partnership between the Scottish Government, food redistribution charity FareShare, and Hey Girls, a social enterprise based in East Lothian, has made accessing free sanitary products for those on low incomes easy and dignified. FareShare has distributed a range of free period products – sourced from suppliers including Boots, Hey Girls and Unicorn Cups- to those on low incomes through its network of community organisations using its four redistribution Centres in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Challenging Taboo CFINE is proud to operate the Grampian Regional Centre of FareShare which distributes free sanitary products, including reusable products and provides reusable product training in the area. We believe, an important element of this initiative is to challenge the stigma around menstruation which, of course, is a natural function and no or inappropriate protection is a health and well-being issue. Receive Free Products We are looking to recruit further public, third sector and private sector partners to make free sanitary products available to even more of the population. Organisations and businesses in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire which would like to make products accessible, please contact us at [email protected] or on 01224 596156.
