Due to the circumstances beyond our control, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our premises temporarily until further notice. As a responsible organisation, we have the duty to safeguard our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries from the spread of COVID-19.

This means, there will be no access to the food bank, the CFINE Community Food Pantry and the Best Start and Smile Pantry for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic. Although our premises will remain closed until further notice, CFINE is committed to fighting hunger and will continue to provide vital support services for vulnerable individuals and families.

How can you access help?

Crisis Food

Those who are running low on food and struggling to access it can contact us on 01224 596156 or at [email protected] and we will do our best to organise contact-free help. CFINE has restricted access to resources, therefore, the crisis food delivery service is only available in case of an emergency. We are asking you to be considerate of other individuals and families facing difficulty as the result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

You can request an emergency food parcel Monday to Friday between 8 am-4 pm.

SAFE Team Support Service

The SAFE Team will continue to provide support and advice for those who face financial difficulty or need help navigating the welfare system. The health and safety of our beneficiaries, volunteers and staff are paramount, therefore, the SAFE Team Support services will be accessible exclusively via phone or email until further notice. The SAFE Team telephone number 01224 531386 and the free telephone number 0800 953 4330 will be staffed 9 am-4 pm Monday to Friday. Enquiries can also be made through the website https://www.cfine.org/safe or at [email protected].

Aberdeen City Council Emergency Helpline

Aberdeen City Council has launched a free emergency telephone helpline to prioritise support to the most vulnerable and at-risk individuals and families during the coronavirus outbreak. The free telephone number 0800 0304 713 will be staffed from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday from Tuesday, 24 March until further notice. The emergency number is for those hit hardest by the coronavirus outbreak and unable to obtain help from their existing support network in these unprecedented times. Members of the helpline team are ready to provide welfare and financial advice and support, including what to do if you are struggling to get food or pay bills.

Similar advice and information are also available on issues such as housing, health, food, heating, finance and schools on the Coronavirus COVID-19 page of the Council’s website, which is being regularly updated.
