Families Cooking Together

Posted 12th Mar 2024 · Blog

Families Cooking Together is a project that has been planned by Alicia and Caitlin. We are both in our 3rd year of studying Food, Nutrition and Human Health at Robert Gordon University. Through our placement at CFINE, we have been given the amazing opportunity to help plan this project.

The Families Cooking Together Project are sessions that involve families coming to CFINE’s kitchen to take part in cooking classes. In these sessions we want to explore recipes that are nutritious and healthy as well as budget friendly. Spaghetti Bolognese, creamy courgette soup, and chicken fajitas are a few examples of the recipes that we are planning to include in these sessions.

Through studying nutrition, we have developed an understanding of how important nutrition is throughout life with emphasis on the importance of it during childhood. These sessions aim to create a fun space for both children and adults to gain knowledge and confidence in their cooking abilities. Our placement ends the 19th of April, so we are hopeful that we will be able to take part in a couple of classes before we are done.
