On Wednesday 30th of April CFINE's Lived Experience Group held the first in a series of public events as they write a manifesto for change ahead of the 2026 Scottish Elections. This Manifesto will then be presented to policy makers, inform political discourse and drive meaningful change locally and nationally.
This first event brought together a diverse group of people from the local community, including those with lived experiences of the cost-of-living crisis. Station House Media Unit filmed and conducted interviews as part of a documentary on the Manifesto’s creation.

The topic for discussion was Food Poverty. Attendees split into 4 tables to explore the following themes:
1) Access to affordable and healthy food
2) Potential solutions to food poverty
3) The Local Food System and how it addresses food poverty
4) The impact of food poverty on health and wellbeing

The process of refining these discussions into policies for the manifesto will be begun by the Lived Experience Group at their next meeting:
- 🗓️ Wednesday 14th May
- ⏰ 12-2:00pm
- 📍 2-4 Poynernook Road, Aberdeen, AB11 5RW
- 🍴 Lunch provided
