Following an early request from a beneficiary to make mince pies in late November, the HOPE group has been making the most of the weeks leading up to Christmas. The pies were described by the cook as the best he had ever eaten and despite his best intentions, none made it to friends and family. However, groups have since been making soup and trays of flapjacks for the team of volunteers and staff at CFINE.
More recently a die cutting technique has been used to produce greetings cards that will be offered to CFINE beneficiaries to send to loved ones.

Books have also been upcycled into mini Christmas trees!

The Christmas period can be a difficult, isolating time for some and, in addition to connecting with others, engagement with HOPE gives participants access to a wide range of wrap around care at CFINE. It also gives the opportunity for referrals to projects run by partner organisations such as lunches, and donations of warm clothing.
With CFINE only closing for a handful of days over the Christmas period, HOPE participants know they will be well supported over the upcoming weeks.
